Career Planning & Course Guide
The Career Planning and Course Guide is available in two different formats; a traditional guide book and a course guide website. Both of these formats add large amounts of functionality and increase useability of the guides. Note that the traditional course guide below now has live links to help with navigation and gather additional information.
Schedule Change Policy
Each year, significant effort goes into creating a master schedule that balances graduation requirements with student course requests. Badger High School offers a diverse selection of both required and elective courses, giving students ample opportunities to tailor their education to their goals. Students and parents are given two weeks to review the course guide and carefully select classes that align with their academic path and graduation requirements. Faculty assignments, room allocations, and course sections are determined based on these selections. As a result, schedule changes are not always possible due to conflicts, course availability, and class size limitations.
Schedule change requests will be considered for the following reasons and only honored if there is space available:
- Course needed to meet graduation requirement
- Student approved for Start College Now, Early College Credit, or Career Connect
- An individual educational plan (IEP) or 504 plan accommodation
- Recovery credit needed for graduation
- Student does not meet course prerequisite
Students’ schedules will NOT be changed due to:
- Change of mind or in future career path
- Failing or low grade in year long class
- Teacher Preference
- Being in class with a friend
- Lunch period preference
- A job or athletics commitment
Semester two schedule changes if needed, will only occur one week prior to the start of the semester.
